Sinungaling? Kampo ni Nas Daily, pinasinungalingan na hindi sila binigyan ng permiso ni Apo Whang-Od: “We spent 2 full days filming Whang-Od”

Pinasinungalingan ni Nas Daily ang pahayag ng National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) kung saan ay sinasabi na hindi daw nagbigay ng permiso ang legendary Kalinga tattoo artist na si Apo Whang-Od na ipalabas ang kanyang video sa website ng vlogger.

Sa pahayag ng NCIP ay wala daw nagpaliwanag kay Whang-Od kung ano nga ba ang nilalaman ng kontrata sa pagitan niya at ni Nas.

Kinuwestiyon din ng ahensya ang thumbmark diumano ni Whang-Od sa kontrata.

“No provision of the contract was explained or discussed to her or to her representative, or what was assured of her is external to the terms of the contract,” ayon sa pahayag ng NCIP.

Pinasinungalingan naman ito ni Nas at sinabi na pinirmahan talaga ng tattoo artist ang kontrata.

“It is not true that Apo Whang-Od’s consent was not obtained and that she did not affix her signature.

It is also not true that the contract was not discussed with her.” giit ng Nas Academy.

Ayon din sa kanila ay ilang araw silang nagtagal sa lugar ni Whang-Od bilang parte ng kanilang proyekto at gumawa pa nga ng bank account ang pamangkin nito na si Estella Palangdao kung saan ay ilalagay ang kikitain ng online course ng tattoo artist.

“To produce the Whang-Od Academy, we engaged the services of a local production company, known for the projects they produce on Indigenous Peoples. Under our agreement, they were expected to conduct due diligence and comply with all requirements mandated by Philippine law.

We were assured that their group would coordinate with Whang-Od, her family, and their community.” ani Nas Academy.

“We spent 2 full days filming with Whang-Od and Estela. There were more than 7 people involved in this process, and Estela set-up a bank account to receive the funds from the project. It is very very hard for Whang-Od Academy to exist without the consent of Whang-Od and her family.” dagdag pa nila.

Hindi din daw sila nabigyan ng pagkakataon na ipagtanggol ang kanilang sarili.

“We were ready to cooperate with the Regional Office of the NCIP in its investigation. But Nas Academy was not given the chance to explain its side before arriving at a conclusion and releasing a statement. This is not how a fair investigation is held. Both sides must be heard to reach a fair and informed conclusion.” ayon sa kanila.

Hindi pa nagbibigay ng tugon ang NCIP sa mga pahayag ni Nas.
